These were the questions asked during the University of Birmingham Dubai February live question and answer session live event.
Aditya asked:

I am an IB student with a predicted of 36 points. with 6 6 and 4 in HL ( i have BM, Econ and Math at higher level) and 6 in English at SL, 5 in Physics SL, and 7 in Hindi SL (plus 2 points in TOK+EE), I will be persuing Business Management course (undergrad) but the minimum requirement is 6,6,5 in HLs but my score is 4 in one hl that is math so is there any chance ill be able to get an offer?

Bal replied:

Dear Aditya, i have checked this with the programme director for Business Management and she has confirm this is okay.

If I finished High school and pass English GSCEs, and now in the college, but I am not originally from England. Do I have to pass IELTS tests or not?

Dear Eva, as you have passed English at GCSE level this should meet our entry requirements for further information please visit the programme webpage under the entry requirements heading.

If I am from UK and I would like to get student loan to study in the Dubai, it is possible to get it from UK or it should be from Dubai or there is no way to get student loan for studies in Dubai?

Bal replied:

Dear Eva, student loans from the Student Loan Company will not apply to students wishing to study with us in Dubai.

When will the university be accredited by the KHDA

Bal replied:
Dear Nagham. all our of our programmes are accredited by the KHDA, as we are as a institution with our academic licence.
We offer degrees programmes at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate level that will be taught, examined and accredited to the same high standards as those delivered on its UK campus and are approved by the Dubai Government’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

When do you have to apply to be considered for a scholarship and do they have separate applications?

Hi Hadeel, you will be invited to apply for our scholarship once you receive your offer to study with us.

We will contact those outstanding students and confirm the next steps in order to be considered for our fully funded award.
