Bernard asked:

Again, how do you judge students against other applicants from different countries without disavantaging the less-endowed applicants?

Yusra replied:

Hi Bernard,

Thank you fro your question.

We do fair assessment of academic grades and ensure that scholarships are awarded based to grades achieved.

We have a range of merit-based scholarships available from 10% – 30% with an additional award of 10% for your first year if you pay your deposit before 31st July 2020.

If you would like to apply for one of our scholarships, you can find more information here: https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/dubai/study/fees-and-funding/scholarships.aspx

Many thanks
Yusra

Bernard asked:

What do you refer to as High School exam top grade achievement and what is the criteria for determining this?

Yusra replied:

Hi Bernard,

Thank you for your question.

The scholarship team has a threshold to determine high achievers from different education systems.

We award outstanding students who exhibit the highest standards of academic excellence. The scholarship is exclusive and limited, award is offered on an invitation basis only.

Many thanks

Yusra

Bernard asked:

1. Is the Chancellor’s award scholarships open to applicants for programmes starting in September?

Yusra replied:

Hi Bernard,

Thank you for your question.

Our scholarship ranges from 10%-30% and are designed to benefit all our new students and the financial rewards can be carried forward through the entire programme.

Once your application is successful you will receive your offer letter, following the scholarships panel will review and notify your scholarship award.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Many thanks
Yusra

Also, does applying earlier affect your chances of being accepted?

Yusra replied:

Hi Khalid,

We encourage students to apply early as it gives you sufficient time to complete the process.

Once you are successful and receive an offer letter, the scholarship panel will then review your grades for Chancellor’s Academic Merit Scholarship.

Many thanks

Yusra
